Ladies, stroke statistics are serious for everyone, but the folks here at Hope for Health feel it’s a travesty many women don’t know there are “women only” symptoms for this potentially fatal condition.
Did you know that? Did you know you could be at risk for a stroke and you might not even know what warning signs to watch for?
That’s right. According to the National Stroke Association, stroke symptoms specific to women include:
- Hiccups
- Seizures
- Nausea or vomiting
- General pain or weakness
- Hallucination
- Loss of consciousness
- Shortness of breath/ difficulty breathing
- Confusion/ disorientation
- Sudden behavioral changes or agitation
So get it out of your heads that numbness in the face or arms, sudden confusion, or trouble talking are the only things you should be on the lookout for. What’s more, women tend to have more headaches accompanying strokes, and they often experience hiccups with some chest pain.
Ladies, make sure you know what to watch for in yourself, your friends, and your family members!
